Bites & Sites Walking Tour

Description

Experience Vallarta up close with this two-mile guided walking tour that will immerse you in the sights, flavors, colors, aromas, and views of the city. Your tour begins as you board a van or motorcoach to reach the Malecon, where our stroll on Puerto Vallarta’s famous boardwalk commences. Admire sculptures by Mexican artists that capture the magic of this place.

Meanwhile, the lively atmosphere created by locals and visitors unfolds against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.

We proceed to sites like the Palacio Municipal, the main plaza, and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral before walking alongside the Rio Cuale, a natural oasis in the heart of the city that hosts local artisans, vendors, and restaurants.

We continue our journey through the iconic Lazaro Cardenas Park, unique worldwide for its extensive mosaics, created by the local community. Afterwards, we’ll continue our oceanfront walk to the romantic Los Muertos pier, perfect for capturing picturesque selfies.

Here, a bus will pick us up and take us down Basilio Badillo Avenue, famous for its cafes and bars, to our first taco stop for a Jalisco favorite, birria. This unique and highly seasoned (but not spicy) taco preparation is made with mild chiles, cloves, and herbs.

Afterward, we visit a ceramics factory and then head to a family-owned leather workshop, where you’ll be treated to an ice-cold cerveza. To conclude the tour, we’ll stop for a famous taco al pastor or chicken taco and a complimentary margarita. Afterward, you’ll have some free time to explore the shops near the taco stand before returning to the ship.

Duration

Approximately 4 Hours

Notes

There are 20 steps at the ceramics tile factory to reach the second floor, where the tiles are painted and fired (optional). We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a hat. Walking in downtown mainly involves flat terrain with some cobblestone streets.
